Role: Artist, photographer
Project Details: I’m fascinated by what we cannot see. Dark matter, non-visible-light astronomy, and the hidden dimensions just out of reach in our daily lives. These pieces are part sculpture, part painting, part macro photography, and part science. Using various techniques, I highlight the beauty found in the transparent stuff one would normally throw in the trash or wash down the drain. I have used this technique throughout my experimental 16mm films, as well. In still photography, I wanted to highlight the landscape quality found in these overlooked pieces of trash.

Project: "The Galilean Satellites"
Role: Director, producer
Project Details: By far the most popular of my four-series 16mm film project dedicated to friend and mentor Stan Brakhage. The series employs recordings from the Voyager space probes, as well as more recent missions to the Jovian system. The sounds range from musical to chaotic. An abstract expression of the “personalities” of both the moons and the gods with whom they share their names, the series makes use of various plastics and liquid crystals, heated, stretched and tormented into life, just as these mini-planets are. It debuted at the New York International Film Festival and went on to play at over a dozen festivals all over the world, including most recently in South Korea.

Project: "Through The Looking-Glass"
Photographer: Geneva Z. Bailey
Role: Caterpillar
Project Details: A photographic exploration and artistic interpretation of Lewis Carroll’s Wonderland world. I’ve never aspired to be an actor or a model. I’m usually more at home behind the camera, but it’s such a joy to immerse myself in another artist’s vision and “play.” I do it whenever I get the chance.
Description: My demo reel highlighting some of my 3D and VFX work. Work has appeared in several shorts and commercials and one feature-length film.
Tools: Maya, AfterEffects, Premiere, Unity
Project: "Balloon Warrior"
Photographer: Geneva Z. Bailey
Role: Warrior/Concept
Project Details: I’ve always been afraid of balloons. I know, it sounds crazy, but it’s a long story (and also a real thing- check out “globophobia”). I was about to embark on a solo journey halfway across the country and I needed a major self esteem boost. I was also studying for my black belt in Kung Fu. I had the idea to take some of my (not at all sharp) Kung Fu weapons and burst some balloons. My photographer wanted to capture the moment. However, the weather, light, weapons, atmosphere, were all so perfect we decided to turn it into a full-on photo shoot!
When I am not capturing moving images, I enjoy trying to create movement and electricity in still photography.
